Payment Methods

Configure the payment methods available for your gym.


Default Methods

FineGym includes two built-in payment methods:

MethodDescription
CashPhysical cash payments
CardCredit/debit via Stripe

These cannot be removed but can be used alongside custom methods.


Custom Payment Methods

Location: Settings → Payment Methods

Add custom methods for your business:

  1. Click Add Payment Method
  2. Enter Name (e.g., "Bank Transfer", "Check", "Venmo")
  3. Click Save

Common Custom Methods

  • Bank Transfer
  • Check
  • PayPal
  • Venmo
  • Gift Card
  • Account Credit

How Custom Methods Work

Custom payment methods:

  • Appear in payment dropdowns when recording payments
  • Require manual payment recording
  • No automatic processing (staff marks as paid)

Using Payment Methods

When Assigning Memberships

Select payment method during membership assignment:

  • Card - Member pays via Stripe checkout
  • Cash - Creates invoice, staff records payment when received
  • Custom - Creates invoice, staff records payment manually

When Recording Payments

  1. Open the invoice
  2. Click Record Payment
  3. Select payment method
  4. Enter amount
  5. Confirm

Archiving Methods

Disable a payment method you no longer use:

  1. Click the method
  2. Toggle Active off
  3. Method hidden from new transactions

Archived methods still appear on historical transactions.


Invoice Settings

Configure invoice payment behavior:

Troubleshooting

Payment Method Not Showing

Check:

  • Method is not archived
  • You have the correct permissions
  • Page has been refreshed

Can't Delete Payment Method

Payment methods with transaction history cannot be deleted. Archive them instead.
