Payment Methods
Configure the payment methods available for your gym.
Default Methods
FineGym includes two built-in payment methods:
| Method | Description |
|---|---|
| Cash | Physical cash payments |
| Card | Credit/debit via Stripe |
These cannot be removed but can be used alongside custom methods.
Custom Payment Methods
Location: Settings → Payment Methods
Add custom methods for your business:
- Click Add Payment Method
- Enter Name (e.g., "Bank Transfer", "Check", "Venmo")
- Click Save
Common Custom Methods
- Bank Transfer
- Check
- PayPal
- Venmo
- Gift Card
- Account Credit
How Custom Methods Work
Custom payment methods:
- Appear in payment dropdowns when recording payments
- Require manual payment recording
- No automatic processing (staff marks as paid)
Using Payment Methods
When Assigning Memberships
Select payment method during membership assignment:
- Card - Member pays via Stripe checkout
- Cash - Creates invoice, staff records payment when received
- Custom - Creates invoice, staff records payment manually
When Recording Payments
- Open the invoice
- Click Record Payment
- Select payment method
- Enter amount
- Confirm
Archiving Methods
Disable a payment method you no longer use:
- Click the method
- Toggle Active off
- Method hidden from new transactions

Archived methods still appear on historical transactions.
Invoice Settings
Configure invoice payment behavior:

| Auto-close Invoices | Automatically finalize draft invoices |
| Retry Failed Invoices | Number of payment retry attempts for cards |
Troubleshooting
Payment Method Not Showing
Check:
- Method is not archived
- You have the correct permissions
- Page has been refreshed
Can't Delete Payment Method
Payment methods with transaction history cannot be deleted. Archive them instead.
